The client’s interior designer enlisted Avinu to create a subtle yet effective automation system that would enhance the design-focused renovation. The objective was to seamlessly incorporate smart technology into a high-end family home while preserving the elegant aesthetics throughout the residence.
Avinu collaborated closely with My KNX Store to develop a KNX-based control strategy that would maintain the property’s historical charm while facilitating state-of-the-art modern living.
KNX is an open standard for automating both commercial and residential buildings. From the beginning, it was crucial that the smart technology strategy was crafted in conjunction with the architectural and interior design, ensuring seamless integration with the client’s modern lifestyle.
The solution had to provide options, flexibility, and thoughtful design—allowing for subtle control of lighting, climate, security, shading, and entertainment without disrupting the sleek aesthetic of the interiors.
With its modular, brand-neutral approach, KNX was the ideal choice to offer unmatched variety, facilitating the development of a truly customized system for today, whilst ensuring easy upgrades and reconfigurations in the future as occupant requirements change and new technologies arise.
Avinu crafted and implemented a comprehensive KNX solution primarily focused on the Gira KNX System. Central to the home, the Gira X1 and S1 offer secure and adaptable control, consolidating all building functions into a single intelligent app server. The carefully chosen Gira Pushbutton Sensor 4 keypads, finished in bronze, harmonized with the property’s interior design while minimizing wall clutter through multifunctional control at every KNX switch location. When additional thermostat display/control was necessary, Avinu preserved design consistency by integrating Zennio’s compact Flat 55 Display thermostat with Gira’s esprit bronze frames to match all other Pushbutton Sensor 4 keypads.
In collaboration with My KNX Store, Avinu guaranteed that every aspect, from lighting and climate to shading and entertainment, was seamlessly integrated, resulting in a cohesive smart home system customized to the client’s lifestyle.
